MCAC offers the following programs and services to all of its eligible members!

Insurance Programs:

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) – Protect your family from unforeseen expenses with this affordable accident coverage underwritten by one of the nation’s leading group benefits carriers with more than 50 years experience, The Hartford.  Choose from $50,000 or $100,000 coverage levels.  No pre-qualifying medical exam within the first 30 days of membership for active MCAC member participants.  Premiums less than $15 per month.

Workers Compensation | General Liability | Auto | Property | Inland Marine – Coverage is available for commercial and residential contractors. Preferred rates with admitted insurers, 25% – 50% of MCAC membership dues paid, and access to business assistance services are offered for program participants. Services:

Legal referrals – Referrals are available to local specialists to address your labor and construction law needs and more.  In the bay area, the firm of Sweeney, Mason, Wilson & Boscomworth can assist with labor and wage issues, estate planning, tax controversy, as well as corporate and business issues.  Based in North Hollywood, the firm of Abdulaziz & Grossbart is well-equipped to offer their more than 30 years of construction law experience on issues ranging from construction contracts and bond claims to contractor’s license disputes and construction defect litigation. And, we can make additional referrals for specific issues and regions.

Legislative and Regulatory representation – MCAC regularly participates in key industry issues affecting masonry contractors and suppliers such as Workers’ Compensation reform, silica regulation, heat illness standards, subcontractor indemnification requirements in construction contracts, unlicensed activity, and prompt pay laws.  MCAC represents its members through such means as verbal testimony, written comments, position letters, coalition participation and offers grass roots opportunities for member involvement.

Bi-Annual Industry Update – Twice a year MCAC prepares a report containing a diverse range of valuable industry and business information.  Past editions of this unique report have included a checklist to identify knock-off scaffold plank; articles on the growing popularity of BIM; fact sheets on diesel, heat illness, and dry cutting regulations; and case law citing commute time as compensable.  The report is available to State Meeting attendees, delegates, and members upon request.

Statewide and Local Chapter Meetings – Attend bi-annual statewide meetings to network with colleagues and suppliers and obtain informational updates from association staff, industry professionals, and guest speakers.  Participate in local chapter meetings to keep abreast of activity in your region.

Membership Directory – See a full listing of all MCAC contractor and associate members, MCAC officers and staff, and contact information for member company principals.  Also, advertise your company’s specialties, products, and services with full page, half page, or business card listings in the directory.

Regulatory and Safety Bulletins – The rules of the game keep changing, and you can stay on top of those changes with our bulletins which announce new laws or regulations as well as safety protocols that could impact your business.  Our bulletins have covered changes in mechanic’s lien law, labor compliance monitoring on public projects, dry cutting rules, diesel regulations for on and off-road vehicles and equipment, heat illness, and driver safety.

Network with Industry Peers and Providers – MCAC is designed to enhance opportunities and services to mason contractors through the exchange of ideas and resources.  This exchange is founded upon the principals of information sharing and peer-to-peer networking not only between contractors and suppliers but also among related trade groups with shared interests.  MCAC represents its members in related organizations to increase member visibility and recognition of the masonry industry.  These affiliations create a greater presence for the masonry industry overall and a louder voice before our state decision-makers.
